That's a bummer. I suppose you could cheat the system by having a friend sign up, moving all your stuff to that account, and eventually switching the account info later. That's the kind of thing you read in deal forums, but my moral compass would steer me away from such an idea. ...and I have too many sites/databases/domains etc configured with my current dreamhost account to bother moving anyway.

Jsson --

Can you use the promo code if you already have an account?

I've contacted dreamhost about it and am waiting on a response -- just wondering if you knew.

i like it! but, we have to go with a web 2.0 name, how about:

"The WarBwlrs" lol. =)

Post looks fine to me, Greg. I think there maybe something goofy going on with my comment template CSS though because I've seen the right side of the comments getting cut off on some posts. Weird. I'll have to look into it.

I've actually played around with Ruby on Rails through Dreamhost and it works just fine. Seemed a little slow to me, but that was back when they first implemented it (maybe a year or so ago?). I'm sure they've got all the bugs worked out by now. The promo probably won't last very long at all. In fact, I saw a post on a forum this morning that said the code didn't work. Since then, a coworker of mine and another friend signed up and it worked just fine. If anybody gets a message that says the coupon code isn't working any more, please let me know so I can make a note at the top of this post. Thanks!

How about "<strong>The WarBowlers</strong>", and we all get the <a href="http://www.thinkgeek.com/tshirts/generic/991e/" rel="nofollow">ThinkGeek Wi-Fi Detector Shirts</a> as our team jerseys. :P

Re: Domain Name
You don't have to actually choose a domain name when you signup, you can pick one later if you're not sure what you want to register.

Cool. thanks for the info, I'm sure I can come up with another URL for this price, and I like the idea of Rails support.

PS, did you think of a name for the bowling team yet =)

talk to you later!

Brian
