RIP Maw Maw

On Friday, Amy and I said goodbye to one of the world’s greatest grandmothers. Kathleen “Maw Maw” Bishop was Amy’s mom’s mom and was an inspirational figure to both of us. Hearing that she had hours left to live, Amy wrote the following update on her Facebook wall.

Quite possibly saying goodbye to the sweetest, bravest, most hilarious, amazing grandma a person could ask for. Her body is weak, but her will is strong and her spirit beautiful. I love you Maw Maw and I will cherish your memories. We drove down to Florida Friday afternoon but missed her passing by a couple hours. It was tough not getting to see her, but good to be there with the family…

Blissdom, A Dude's Perspective

While I’ve never been a fan of the word, I’ve been a “blogger” for over 8 years now. Unlike most bloggers these days, I’m not trying to generate traffic or make tons of ad revenue. Instead, my blog really just serves as a personal journal. Looking back at the archives, I’ve managed to post something here at least once every month from January of 2004…up until last month. So, what was I doing during those last few days of January that kept me from typing out a post? I was attending a blogging conference called Blissdom in Nashville, TN.
