This post was imported from a blog called Contemporation where Amy and I wrote about the renovation of our 80’s contemporary home in Atlanta. That blog is no more but I wanted the content to live on.
Things are looking quite a bit different around here than they did just 2½ weeks ago. The old block wall was removed, as was about 2 tons of dirt. A new footing was poured, then a new 8″ concrete wall was poured on top. The new wall had waterproofing applied and a french drain installed around the back before it was backfilled. This will be our new garage. To preserve this milestone, I used an app called 360 Panorama to create an interactive view from the garage entrance. (Nevermind the floating Sweetgum tree.)
It seems like quick work for only a couple weeks but we know the changes will come much faster once framing begins on Monday. So far, so good!
